Cage

Medium

Digital painting

The concept behind Cage (2025) emerged from a question: when does protecting what we love stop being healthy? The ribs — usually meant to safeguard vital organs such as the heart and lungs — here shield a person, someone deeply cherished. Yet this same structure that offers protection also becomes a prison: the figure curls inward, both physically and mentally, to fit into a space that no longer allows them to grow.
The emptiness surrounding the composition symbolizes the cost of safety — in avoiding harm, we may also forfeit the freedom to live fully.
