Reality

Medium

Digital painting, Glitter relief paint

"Reality" reflects on frustration and the inevitable shattering of expectations. The image draws from the metaphor of “rose-colored glasses” — the idealized lens through which we often view life — and questions what we do when that lens breaks. Once it’s fractured, we must choose: take off the glasses and face the world as it is, or keep seeing it through a kaleidoscope of hurt and distorted memories.
Though the heart-shaped glasses might suggest a romantic context, the piece expands beyond that, touching on disillusionment in many forms and our choices in how we confront it. Removing the glasses may strip away color and magic, but it also reveals clarity.
The artwork was printed and hand-finished with glitter relief paint — a material choice that bridges concept and form. The playful shimmer contrasts with the mature theme, embodying the tension between reality and innocence.
